I was raised in an artistic family where my mother ran a dancing school in our basement. She made the costumes and choreographed all the dances herself. My grandmother painted, and my grandfather created wood furniture.
I started painting in highschool and college but had to give it up after graduating due to lack of space. I put my talents on hold for several years to devote time to achieving a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, get married, and have a child. After getting divorced a friend got me into scrapbooking which soon became my #1 hobby.
In 2005, I remarried. My husband has been wearing tiedyes for the last twenty years. I started experimenting with the art of tie dying a few years ago as a birthday gift for him and both of us have been addicted ever since! It was hard controlling the dye at first but with a lot of practice we have been able to create some really cool pieces of clothing!
We moved into our own home two years ago, and we have a large two car garage which makes the perfect studio for our creations. We enjoy working together and inspiring each other to come up with new ideas.
We do want to branch out with other fabric arts such as air brushing. We also are experimenting with adding embelishments to some of our clothing.
